Cowan Lake State Park's cabin area provides a comfortable retreat for families and couples seeking the outdoors without sacrificing modern conveniences. The 21 cabins are tucked into a scenic wooded setting just a short walk from the Nature Center, offering privacy while remaining close to park amenities including swimming, fishing, sailing, kayaking, archery, disc golf, and hiking trails. Cabins come in three tiers: 11 standard cabins sleeping four people, 9 preferred cabins sleeping six with some featuring gas fireplaces, and 2 ADA-accessible cabins sleeping five. All cabins are fully furnished with two private bedrooms, a complete kitchen with dishes, cookware, and small appliances, a bathroom with shower, heating and air conditioning, and TV. Bed, bath, and kitchen linens are provided. Each cabin has parking, a charcoal grill, and a picnic table. A seasonal commissary stocks camping essentials and rental gear. Three standard cabins are pet-friendly, allowing guests to bring their dogs. The park sits on 700-acre Cowan Lake, known for its clear water and sailing opportunities.
