Detroit State Park
Open year-round for camping. Reservations available up to six months in advance through Oregon State Parks. Note: The park is within Marion County's emerald ash borer quarantine zone; ash, olive, and white fringe tree firewood must remain within the county.
About
Detroit Lake State Recreation Area sits on the shore of a nine-mile-long reservoir nestled in a forested canyon of the Cascade Mountains in Marion County, Oregon. The campground offers nearly 300 sites spread across various configurations: 107 full-hookup sites for RVs, 68 electrical sites with water, 96 tent sites with water nearby, and 6 mini cabins that sleep up to three guests each. The park provides excellent facilities including flush toilets, hot showers, and a visitor center that sells firewood, ice, soft drinks, and souvenirs. Recreational amenities include horseshoe pits, a basketball court, volleyball area, playground, two courtesy boat ramps, two reservable boat moorages, and a fishing dock. Eight campsites are ADA-accessible. Detroit Lake is a premier destination for water recreation including fishing, boating, swimming, and water skiing. The surrounding Willamette National Forest offers additional hiking and outdoor opportunities. Reservations can be made up to six months in advance through Oregon State Parks.
Directions
From Detroit, Oregon, travel east on State Highway 22 for 2.7 miles to Blowout Road/Forest Service Road 10. Proceed on Blowout Road for 4.7 miles to the campground on the right.
