Locally heavy rainfall can be expected with the potential for storms to repeatedly track over the same locations. This will result in the potential for flash flooding.
About
Delaware State Park Campground is located 5 miles north of the city of Delaware along U.S. Highway 23 in central Ohio. The 1,330-acre park surrounds Delaware Lake, offering campers easy access to an 800-foot swimming beach, marina with boat rentals and fuel, and excellent fishing opportunities. The heavily wooded campground provides a shaded retreat with sites suitable for tents, trailers, and RVs up to 70 feet. The campground includes 214 sites, with 164 offering electric hookups at 30 and 50 amp service. Four ADA-accessible sites are available. Amenities include heated restrooms with flush toilets, hot showers, coin-operated laundry facilities, and a dump station. Each campsite comes equipped with a fire ring and picnic table. A seasonal camp store near the entrance sells firewood, ice, and camping essentials. Recreation options within the campground include a 9-hole disc golf course, playground, volleyball and basketball courts, tetherball, shuffleboard, and a fenced dog park. Two Rent-A-Yurt units are available for those seeking an alternative camping experience. A youth group camp accommodating up to 100 people is also available by reservation.
Directions
From Columbus, take U.S. 23 North approximately 30 miles. The park entrance is 5 miles north of the city of Delaware on the east side of U.S. 23 at the traffic light. From Cleveland, take I-71 South to State Route 36-37, head west to U.S. 23 in Delaware, then north 5 miles to the park entrance.
