About

Mt. Gilead State Park Campground is a quiet retreat located just east of the village of Mount Gilead in central Ohio. The campground features 58 campsites nestled in a scenic pine forest, with 22 full hookup sites and 36 electric-only sites. The park encompasses 181 acres, including upper and lower lakes totaling 32 acres that provide excellent fishing opportunities. The campground offers year-round camping and includes two deluxe camper cabins available during the summer season. Visitors can enjoy over three miles of hiking trails, including the Sam's Creek Self-guided Nature Trail that starts near the east end of the camping area. The park features multiple picnic areas on the south side, with three picnic shelters available on a first-come, first-served basis or by reservation. With its central location between Mansfield and Columbus, Mt. Gilead State Park provides a peaceful escape with easy access to outdoor activities including fishing, hiking, and picnicking. The campground is backed-in style only, with quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Check-in time is 3:00 PM, and the park allows a maximum of two vehicles per site.
