About

Alum Creek Below Dam Area is a spacious day-use recreation area located just below Alum Creek Dam in Delaware County, Ohio, minutes north of Columbus. The facility is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and features three large group picnic shelters (Maple, Oak, and Buckeye) that can each accommodate up to 100 guests. Each shelter includes electric hookups, picnic tables, and grills. Drinking water, flush toilets, and playgrounds are available on-site. Alum Creek Lake is renowned as one of Ohio's best fishing lakes, supporting white bass, rock bass, smallmouth and largemouth bass, bluegill, white and black crappie, sunfish, channel catfish, muskie, and saugeye. A boat ramp, large swimming beach, and marina are located nearby. Individual picnic sites with tables and grills are scattered around the shelters and are available first-come, first-served. This is a day-use only facility. The park is closed from dusk to dawn except for fishing. Overnight camping is not permitted at this location; however, Alum Creek State Park is adjacent and offers a large campground for overnight stays.
