About

Located north of US Route 36 along North Old State Road, Alum Creek Equestrian Camp provides primitive camping accommodations for horseback riders at Alum Creek State Park. The campground features approximately 30 primitive campsites, each equipped with high lines and firm ground suitable for horses. Potable water is available for horses throughout the campground, and a few shaded sites offer relief during warmer months. The equestrian camp includes permanent primitive restroom facilities supplemented by portable toilets, and an RV dump station is available for campers with trailers. Sites are large enough to accommodate up to six people and can be reserved in advance through the Ohio state park reservation system. The campground serves as a trailhead for approximately 43 miles of bridle trails that wind through the park's diverse terrain. This facility caters specifically to equestrian campers, combining primitive camping with dedicated horse amenities. The extensive trail system maintained by the Delaware County Chapter of the Ohio Horseman's Council makes this location ideal for multi-day horseback riding adventures in central Ohio.
