Deep Lake Campground is a rustic camping destination nestled within Michigan's Yankee Springs Recreation Area in Barry County. This peaceful campground offers 78 wooded campsites along with a group camping area, all situated in a scenic natural setting on Deep Lake. The rustic nature of the campground means no electrical hookups are available, making it less crowded than modern campgrounds and ideal for tent campers and those seeking a more primitive experience. The campground provides vault toilets and hand-pumped potable water throughout the grounds. Campers have direct access to Deep Lake through a fishing pier and boat launch, perfect for fishing, kayaking, and small watercraft. The location within Yankee Springs Recreation Area provides access to 30 miles of hiking trails, 12 miles of mountain biking trails, and nine lakes within the park boundaries. Yankee Springs Recreation Area's rugged terrain features bogs, marshes, lakes, and streams across its 5,200 acres. Popular activities include hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and wildlife viewing during warmer months. The campground's large, well-separated sites offer good privacy among the trees, and many sites are reservable through the Michigan DNR reservation system.

From US-131, take Exit 61 and head east on M-179 for approximately 7 miles. Follow signs south to the Gun Lake Unit.
