The strongest winds are expected through this morning. * IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Deep Creek Lake State Park, located in Garrett County, Maryland, encompasses over 1,800 acres adjacent to the 3,900-acre Deep Creek Lake. The park offers a variety of recreational activities, including boating, fishing, swimming, and hiking. The Meadow Mountain campground features 112 campsites, with 26 offering electric hookups, as well as two mini cabins, one yurt, and the Bear Den shelter. Amenities include heated bathhouses, a dump station, and freshwater fill-up stations. The park also boasts a Discovery Center with educational exhibits and programs, and 20 miles of hiking and biking trails. The day-use area provides two sandy beaches, picnic areas with grills, playgrounds, and a boat launch. Pets are permitted in designated areas and loops within the campground. The park is open from April 15 to December 15, with day-use hours from 8 a.m. to sunset and trail hours from sunrise to sunset.

Directions

From Route 219, turn onto Glendale Road. Cross the Glendale Bridge, then immediately turn left onto State Park Road. Continue for one mile to reach the park facilities.
