At 405 PM EDT, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 7 miles northwest of Seven Springs to 7 miles southwest of Farmington to near Winfield. Movement was east at 45 mph. Winds in excess of 45 mph and pea size hail are possible with these storms. Locations impacted include... Mountain Lake Park, Oakland, Bittinger, Grantsville, Loch Lynn Heights, Friendsville, Deer Park, Accident, Merrill, Redhouse, Hutton, Jennings, Keysers Ridge, Mineral Spring, Crellin, Deep Creek Lake State Park, Swallow Falls State Park, McHenry, Selbysport, and Big Run State Park. This includes Interstate 68 in Maryland between mile markers 1 and 30. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

As of 3:50 PM EDT, a line of strong to severe storms are moving through West Virginia. These storms are expected to move through western Maryland, and eastern West Virginia for locations along and west of the Allegheny Front between 4:30 PM and 6:00 PM. Thunderstorms will produce gusty winds, frequent lightning, and heavy downpours. A few severe thunderstorms are possible with damaging wind gusts around 60 mph. If a warning is issued, seek shelter inside a sturdy building away from windows immediately. Wolf Den Run Campground, located within Wolf Den Run State Park in Oakland, Maryland, offers a primitive camping experience amidst a diverse landscape of forests, streams, and rugged terrain. The campground features 10 primitive campsites, each equipped with a fire ring and picnic table. Additionally, two glamping tents are available for rent, providing a furnished canvas tent on a platform with a queen-sized bed and Adirondack chairs; linens and pillows are not provided. The campground is situated in a remote area with no running water or bathhouse facilities; however, a portable toilet is available on-site. Campers should be prepared for limited amenities and bring necessary supplies, including water. Recreational opportunities abound within the park, including off-road vehicle (ORV) riding, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and hunting. The park encompasses over 2,000 acres with a network of trails and access to the North Branch of the Potomac River. Reservations are required for camping and can be made online or by calling 1-888-432-2267. From Oakland, MD, take MD-135 E for approximately 5 miles. Turn right onto Upperman Road and continue for about 1.5 miles to reach the campground at 1699 Upperman Road.
