Showers are turning light and tapering off along the western foothills, but healthier showers will continue over central and eastern portions of the forecast area today. The risk of flooding continues. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible, along with flash flooding over recent burn scars. * WHERE...Southeast Montana and Sheridan County Wyoming. * WHEN...Through this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of creeks and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. The risk of flooding will diminish late this afternoon and evening as showers taper off. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - The heaviest rainfall is slowly shifting eastward to southeast Montana and northeast Wyoming. - The Elk and McGhee-Remington burn scars are particularly vulnerable to flash flooding and debris flows.
