Located at Crooked Creek Lake in western Pennsylvania's Armstrong County, Damsite and Spillway Recreation Area is part of a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers flood control project completed in 1940. The facility features two large covered pavilions (Constitution and Freedom), each available for reservation in morning and afternoon time slots. Between the pavilions sits a restroom building with flush toilets and running water. The recreation area offers extensive day-use amenities including a playground, two volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, a basketball court, and a ball field. Each pavilion accommodates up to 100 people and includes 20 electric outlets, picnic tables, and grills. Note that this is a group pavilion facility, not a traditional campground with individual tent or RV campsites. Crooked Creek Lake itself provides water-based recreation including boating, waterskiing, swimming at the sandy peninsula beach, and fishing for bass, muskie, sunfish, and crappie. The 141-mile Baker Trail passes through the project area for hiking opportunities.

From Pittsburgh: Head northeast on Grant St toward Sixth Avenue. Turn right onto Seventh Ave. Use the left lane to keep right at the fork, follow signs for PA-380 E/Bigelow Boulevard/Interstate 579 N and merge onto Bigelow Blvd. Take the ramp onto I-579N/Veterans Bridge. Follow PA-28 N to PA-66 S in Manor Township. Take exit A from PA-28N/US-422 E. Continue on PA-66 S. Turn left onto Crooked Creek Dam Rd. Address: 114 Park Main Rd., Ford City, PA 16226.
