At 139 AM EST, a dangerous snow squall was located over Sharpsburg, or near Penn Hills, moving east at 20 mph. HAZARD...Intense bursts of heavy snow. Gusty winds leading to blowing snow and rapidly falling visibility. Wind gusts up to 20 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Travel will become difficult and potentially dangerous within minutes. This includes the following highways... Pennsylvania Turnpike between mile markers 41 and 57. Parkway North between mile markers 4 and 7. Interstate 376 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 79 and 84. Locations impacted include... Pittsburgh, Penn Hills, Ross Township, McCandless Township, Monroeville, Shaler Township, Plum, Murrysville, Hampton Township, Wilkinsburg, New Kensington, Lower Burrell, O'hara Township, Bellevue, West View, Wilkins Township, Oakmont, Fox Chapel, Arnold, and Avalon.

About

Bush Recreation Area sits in a picturesque valley overlooking Loyalhanna Lake, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District. The campground provides 44 diverse sites including RV sites with electric hookups, standard non-electric sites, and primitive tent sites, with one group camping area available. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and campfire grill ring. The location offers exceptional access to Loyalhanna Lake, known for hosting multiple bass tournaments annually and some of Pennsylvania's best channel catfishing. The lake permits unlimited horsepower boating, and kayak rentals are available within the recreation area. Shore fishing opportunities abound along both moving and still waters. An on-site amphitheater provides programming opportunities. The campground sits among the rolling foothills of the Laurel Highlands where Loyalhanna Creek originates. Nearby attractions include the West Penn Trail for hiking and biking (10 minutes away) and interpretive displays at Loyalhanna Dam. The recreation area prohibits alcoholic beverages, off-road vehicles, horseback riding, and drone use. Camping is limited to 14 days within any 30-day period.

Directions

From Pittsburgh, take I-376 E for 12.1 miles, keep left and continue onto US-22 E. Turn left at PA-981 N in New Alexandria near the Sheets gas station. Turn left onto Bush Road, pass Mannitto Golf Course, then turn left into Bush Recreation Area at 200 Boat Dock Road.
