About
Keystone State Park spans 1,200 acres in Derry Township, Westmoreland County, offering year-round recreation within easy driving distance from Pittsburgh. The park features two campgrounds with approximately 100 sites: Lakeside Campground adjacent to the 78-acre lake, and Hillside Campground in a more remote setting that accommodates pets. Both campgrounds have modern bathhouses with flush toilets and hot showers. Camping sites include electric and non-electric options, plus walk-to tent sites. Beyond camping, the park offers 11 modern cabins available year-round, three camping cottages, and two yurts. The 78-acre Keystone Lake provides warm and cold water fishing, with an ADA-accessible fishing area by the spillway. A public boat launch and mooring area are located on the north shore. The park features multiple trails including the 2-mile Lake Side Trail that loops around the lake, ideal for hiking and biking. Stone Lodge Trail offers a 1.4-mile steep loop through hardwoods and conifers, while Davis Run Trail spans 2.5 miles. Winter activities include ice fishing, ice skating, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing when conditions permit. A sanitary dump station serves RV campers, and interpretive programs are offered during peak season.
