About

Bell Farm Horse Camp is a popular destination for wagon train riders and equestrians in the Stearns District of Daniel Boone National Forest. Located along Rock Creek, a designated Kentucky Wild River, the camp offers five group campsites, each accommodating 10-15 people. All sites include fire rings, picnic tables, lantern posts, and tent pads. Stock water can be collected from Rock Creek, though no potable drinking water is available. The area has rich historical significance. In the early 1900s, it was a logging and mining town, and during the 1930s it served as a Civilian Conservation Corps camp. The walnut trees visible throughout the camp were planted in 1953. Rock Creek is stocked with rainbow trout from March through June and September through December, requiring a Kentucky fishing license. Nearby hiking and horse trails are accessible through the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. Horses and pack animals are permitted, but the Kentucky Department of Agriculture requires a negative Coggins test for equine infectious anemia and a valid certificate of veterinary inspection.
