Crystal Campground offers a peaceful, primitive camping experience in the Ouachita National Forest, approximately 4 miles northeast of Norman, Arkansas. This small campground features 9 campsites situated alongside Montgomery Creek in an attractive wooded setting. The campground is accessible via a well-maintained forest road that does not require four-wheel drive. As a primitive campground, Crystal provides basic amenities including vault toilets, picnic tables at each site, and fire pits. There is no potable water available on-site, so campers must bring adequate drinking water. No electric or water hookups are provided. The secluded location makes it an ideal choice for those seeking a quiet escape from more developed and crowded campgrounds. The campground serves as a good base for exploring the Caddo/Womble area of the Ouachita National Forest, with opportunities for hiking, swimming in the creek, and enjoying the natural surroundings. The site is open year-round and operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no fees required.

Directions

From Norman, Arkansas, take Highway 27 north for 1 mile. Turn right (east) onto Forest Service Road 177 and continue for 3 miles to the campground.
