Little Fir Campground is a small, intimate camping destination situated on the western shores of Lake Ouachita in the Ouachita National Forest. With just 29 campsites, it offers a quiet atmosphere that appeals particularly to anglers pursuing world-class striper fishing in one of Arkansas's premier fishing destinations. The campground provides convenient access to the lake's crystal-clear waters, which span over 40,000 acres and extend for 30 miles, making Lake Ouachita the largest lake entirely within Arkansas. Each campsite is equipped with water and 50-amp electric hookups, accommodating modern RVs and camping needs. The campground features a shower house for guest comfort, a dump station, and direct boat ramp access for launching into the lake. The incredibly clear waters attract not only anglers but also scuba divers who explore the submerged forests and mountain valleys beneath the surface. Surrounded by the 1.8 million acres of Ouachita National Forest, visitors can explore the Lake Ouachita Vista Trail (LOViT) along the southern end of the lake. The campground operates on a self-check-in system with cards available at the entrance. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Little Fir provides a quieter alternative to larger campgrounds while maintaining convenient amenities and access to world-class outdoor recreation.

Directions

From Mount Ida, AR: Take US 270 west to AR-27 North. Continue on AR-27 North for 4.8 miles, then turn right onto State Highway 188 for 8 miles. The Little Fir Campground entrance will be on your right.
