About
Bear Creek Campground sits on the shores of Lake Greeson, a 7,260-acre reservoir on the Little Missouri River managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The campground features 19 non-electric campsites available exclusively on a first-come, first-served basis, with no advance reservations accepted. Each site is equipped with a picnic table, ground grill, and lantern pole. Potable water is available at a water hydrant located in the main loop near the boat ramp parking area.
The campground is a popular destination for off-road vehicle enthusiasts, providing direct access to the Bear Creek Cycle Trail through a designated ORV loading and unloading area within the campground. The trail connects to nearby Daisy State Park and Kirby Landing Campground, offering extensive riding opportunities.
Lake Greeson is known for excellent fishing, with abundant populations of largemouth, smallmouth, striped, spotted, and white bass, plus flathead and channel catfish, crappie, walleye, and bluegill. The clear waters support a variety of boating activities including water skiing, tubing, and personal watercraft. The surrounding landscape features loblolly pine, shortleaf pine, sweet gum, and oak forests that provide habitat for white-tailed deer, wild turkey, bald eagles, and migratory waterfowl. Crater of Diamonds State Park is within a 30-mile drive.
