Highway 27 Campground is operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the shores of Lake Ouachita, located approximately 40 miles west of Hot Springs in the Ouachita National Forest. Lake Ouachita is renowned for its crystal-clear waters and extensive 975-mile shoreline, making it a premier destination for fishing, boating, scuba diving, and water sports. The campground sits along Highway 27 in Montgomery County, providing convenient access to the lake's recreational opportunities. The area is surrounded by the scenic Ouachita Mountains, offering visitors a combination of water-based activities and mountain forest settings. Lake Ouachita is managed by the USACE Vicksburg District and is prized as one of the clearest lakes in the nation.
