Cowans Gap State Park is a 1,085-acre facility nestled in the Allens Valley of Fulton County, Pennsylvania. The campground consists of two areas with 201 total sites: 137 modern electric sites with 30/50-amp service, 25 non-electric sites, 35 tent-only sites (including 7 walk-in sites in Area B), and one organized group tenting area. A modern shower house with flush toilets and warm showers is centrally located, and a sanitary dump station is near site 29. Water hydrants are distributed throughout for filling tanks and potable water. The park is surrounded by state forest land and features a scenic 42-acre lake with swimming, fishing, and boating opportunities. A day-use concession operates Memorial Day through Labor Day offering food and boat rentals. The park includes CCC-era rustic cabins, multiple hiking trails, an amphitheater, and an electric vehicle charging station. Campground hosts maintain fire rings at each site. Reservations can be made through the Pennsylvania State Parks reservation system up to 11 months in advance. The campground accommodates equipment from small tents up to 45-foot motorhomes, making it suitable for a variety of camping styles. Pets are permitted on designated campsites for an additional fee.

Located north of US 30 between Chambersburg and McConnellsburg in Fulton County. From I-76 (Pennsylvania Turnpike), take the Breezewood exit and follow US 30 west to PA 75 north. The park entrance is on Aughwick Road. GPS coordinates: 39.99478, -77.9249.
