About

Cowans Gap State Park is a 1,085-acre park located in the beautiful Allens Valley of Fulton County, Pennsylvania. The campground features 201 campsites divided between two areas (Area A and Area B), with Area B positioned closer to the 42-acre lake. Sites vary in length from 20 to 82 feet and can accommodate everything from small tents to large motorhomes. Most sites offer electric hookups, and seven walk-in tent sites are available adjacent to Camping Area B. The campground provides modern amenities including comfort stations with flush toilets and hot showers, a sanitary dump station, and numerous water faucets throughout the camping areas. Pets are permitted on designated campsites. The park also features ten historic rustic cabins built by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the 1930s, which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Registered campers have access to an overnight courtesy boat mooring area during their stay. The park offers excellent opportunities for fishing, swimming, hiking, and enjoying the natural beauty of the Blue Mountains region. Unreserved campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis, though reservations are recommended during peak summer months.
