About

Seven Points Picnic Shelters is a collection of five reservable day-use picnic shelters located within the Seven Points Recreation Area at Raystown Lake, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The shelters include Allegheny, Dogwood, Oak, Pine, and Redbud, each uniquely positioned within the recreation area. Allegheny sits atop a hill with panoramic southward views of Raystown Lake, while Oak is situated along the shoreline near the beach. Dogwood and Redbud are located near each other with a sand volleyball court nearby, and Pine is adjacent to the Visitors Center. Each shelter accommodates up to 80 people and includes approximately eight picnic tables, 20-amp electrical service, and access to potable water hydrants. Flush restrooms are located within 100-250 yards of each shelter. Adjacent amenities include playgrounds, horseshoe courts, and volleyball courts. Dumpsters are provided for trash disposal. The shelters are popular for family picnics, birthday parties, and group gatherings due to their proximity to the Seven Points Beach for swimming and the boat ramp providing access to the 8,300-acre Raystown Lake. Nearby attractions include the Seven Points Marina, Greenside Pathway, and the Allegrippis Trails and Mountain Bike Skills Park.
