Trough Creek State Park's 29-site campground sits within a 541-acre scenic gorge in south-central Pennsylvania, where Great Trough Creek carves through Terrace Mountain before emptying into Raystown Lake. The campground is the trailhead for the park's signature features, including Balanced Rock perched above Great Trough Creek and the seasonal Rainbow Falls, both reached via short rugged hikes from the camping area. The park borders Rothrock State Forest and Raystown Lake, providing direct access to a much larger network of trails, fishing, and paddling. Sites are wooded and accommodate any size camper up to 40 feet, with 24 rustic electric sites (30-amp standard, 50-amp at sites 002, 005, 020, 023, and 024) and 5 walk-to tent sites. Every site has a 30- or 50-amp electric hookup, a picnic table, and a campfire ring, with most sites offering a separate crushed-stone tent pad. There are no water or sewer hookups at the sites, and no pull-throughs. A sanitary dump station is located next to the park office. The restroom is a non-flush facility and there are no showers on site. The campground is wheelchair accessible. Pets are allowed only at designated pet-friendly sites. Reservations are handled through the Pennsylvania State Parks reservation system (ReserveAmerica / visitparks.com) and may be made up to 11 months in advance with a minimum 3-day lead time.

From Huntingdon, take PA 26 south for 16 miles, then turn east on PA 994 for 5 miles to the park entrance.
