About

Warriors Path State Park is a 349-acre seasonal park in Liberty Township, Bedford County, located about two miles south of Saxton. The park lies along a historic path used by the Iroquois during raids and wars with the Cherokees and other tribes. The park is bounded on three sides by the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River, which flows into Raystown Lake approximately one mile downstream. The park offers primitive organized group tenting for qualified organized groups such as scout troops, church groups, and civic organizations. The rustic camping area accommodates up to 80 people and provides basic amenities including potable water, pit toilets, picnic tables, and two large fire rings. No showers or electricity are available in the camping area, though an adjacent pavilion with electricity can be reserved separately. Parking within the group camping area is prohibited. Warriors Path State Park operates primarily as a day-use area with camping available from April through October 31. Groups must meet Pennsylvania's organized group requirements, including formal organization with appointed or elected leadership and periodic meetings. Reservations can be made up to 11 months in advance through the Pennsylvania State Parks reservation system.
