About

Clackamas Lake Campground provides a quieter alternative when nearby Timothy Lake fills up. Nestled in a forest of pines with a lush green understory providing privacy between sites, the campground sits near the shores of the shallow 3-acre Clackamas Lake. Anglers can pursue cutthroat, brook, rainbow, and German brown trout, while the lake also supports swimming and non-motorized boating. The campground features 49 sites spread across two loops, including 11 equestrian sites with 2, 3, or 4 horse corrals reserved exclusively for those camping with horses. The 2.2-mile Miller Trail begins within the campground and connects to the Pacific Crest Trail. The Clackamas Lake Ranger Station Historic District, featuring early 1900s Forest Service structures built in rustic architecture, is less than a mile away and draws thousands of visitors annually. Additional trails lead to Little Crater Lake and the Mt. Jefferson Wilderness.
