Chippokes State Park preserves one of the oldest continuously farmed plantations in America, with agricultural operations dating back to 1619. The four rental cabins are restored tenant houses from the plantation's working days, offering a unique lodging experience steeped in colonial Virginia history. Cabin styles range from the one-bedroom Osborne House to the three-bedroom Brown House built around 1850, each with its own character and layout. All cabins include heat and air conditioning, a kitchen with refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker, plus cooking utensils and dishware. Bathrooms have showers, though Cabin 2 features a vintage claw-foot tub. No linens are provided, so guests must bring sheets, towels, and blankets. WiFi is not available, and TV reception is spotty with no cable service. Pets are welcome with a nightly fee. The Walnut Valley House, built around 1770, is the oldest structure on the property and serves as a four-bedroom historic lodge sleeping up to eight guests. It features a screened porch, full kitchen, and ADA-accessible first floor with a wheelchair lift. The park surrounds guests with working farmland, the Farm and Forestry Museum, hiking and biking trails, and swimming pool access in season.
