Belle Isle State Park Hunts

Closed — Closed for the season. Full-service camping operates from the first Friday in March through the first Monday in December. Year-round primitive hike-in or paddle-in camping is available at Brewers Point sites.

Belle Isle State Park's Hunts campground sits on 892 acres along the Northern Neck's Rappahannock River, offering 28 full-service campsites with electric (20/30/50-amp) and water hookups. The campground accommodates tents, pop-ups, and RVs up to 45 feet, with pull-through sites available. Each site includes a fire ring grill, picnic table, lantern hanger, and 15' x 24' tent pad. A modern bathhouse provides hot showers, dish-washing sinks, and laundry facilities. The park's seven miles of shoreline provide access to the Rappahannock River, Deep Creek, and Mulberry Creek. Nearly 10 miles of trails wind through diverse habitats including tidal wetlands, farmland, and upland forests. Recreational opportunities include pier and bank fishing (Virginia saltwater license required), motorboat and car-top boat launches, canoe and kayak rentals, and bicycle rentals. The universally accessible boardwalk and fishing pier offer excellent wildlife viewing for osprey, bald eagles, blue herons, and waterfowl. A camp store sells camping supplies, firewood, ice, bait, and Virginia fishing licenses.

Directions

From Warsaw, take State Route 3 East to SR 354. Turn right and follow for three miles. Turn right onto SR 683 at Somers to the park entrance. From Kilmarnock, take Route 3 West to Lively, then left on SR 201 for three miles, then right on SR 354 for three miles and left onto 683 to the park entrance.
