About

Belle Isle State Park Picnic Shelters provide scenic waterfront venues for day-use gatherings on Virginia's Northern Neck. The park offers three distinct shelter options: Humphreys Shelter and Rappahannock Shelter each accommodate up to 70 people inside with space for 40 more outside, featuring beach access for fishing along the Rappahannock River. Humphreys Shelter also includes an electrical outlet. Deep Creek Shelter is a smaller venue accommodating 24 inside and 20 outside, overlooking Deep Creek and accessible by boat. All three shelters are universally accessible and include grills and picnic tables. Restrooms are located within 35-200 feet of each shelter, and parking is conveniently close. The shelters are available for reservation year-round through Virginia State Parks. These are day-use picnic facilities only and do not permit overnight camping. Visitors seeking overnight accommodations at Belle Isle State Park should consider the separate campground, cabins, or guest house facilities.
