Belle Isle State Park Bel Air Area

About

The Bel Air Area at Belle Isle State Park preserves two historic waterfront homes on an isolated 33-acre peninsula where Deep Creek meets the Rappahannock River. The Bel Air Mansion, a three-bedroom house with gas fireplaces, library, and wraparound porches, accommodates up to six guests. The smaller Guest House offers two bedrooms with a great room and sleeps up to eight. Both structures feature fully equipped kitchens, multiple bathrooms, outdoor fire rings with grills, and picnic tables. Complementary amenities include two canoes and four adult bicycles available when weather permits (canoe use requires combined air and water temperature of at least 120°F). Check-in is at 4 p.m. and check-out at 10 a.m. Guests must bring their own linens including sheets, towels, and blankets. Smoking and camping equipment are prohibited on the grounds. The peninsula setting provides exceptional privacy with water access for kayaking and fishing. The surrounding park offers hiking, biking, and bridle trails, boat launches, and a camp store with equipment rentals. Reservations for the Mansion require calling 1-800-933-PARK; the Guest House can be booked online at reservevaparks.com.
