About
Belle Isle State Park's Bel Air area occupies a 33-acre peninsula at the mouth of Deep Creek on Virginia's Northern Neck, offering spectacular sunset views over the Rappahannock River. The Bel Air House (also called the Mansion) and Bel Air Guest House are Colonial reproduction buildings constructed in 1942, designed by Thomas Tilson Waterman of Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. Both houses feature period furnishings, fully equipped kitchens, and waterfront access. The Bel Air House accommodates up to six guests with three bedrooms on the second floor and two on the first floor, multiple bathrooms, and elegant common spaces including a library, dining room, and living room with gas fireplaces. The nearby Guest House sleeps five to eight guests with two bedrooms and a great room with flexible seating. Neither house provides linens, so guests must bring their own bedding and towels. Guests enjoy complimentary use of two canoes and four adult bicycles (weather permitting), a fire ring, and charcoal grill. The location is popular for weddings and special events, with both houses available for rent together or separately. The surrounding Belle Isle State Park offers seven miles of shoreline, nearly 10 miles of trails, boat launches, and diverse tidal wetlands perfect for wildlife observation and paddling.
