About

Chewacla State Park Campground occupies a forested setting within the park's 696 acres, located a short drive from Auburn and Opelika. The campground is arranged in two separate loops featuring 31 modern RV sites with full hookups including water, electric (30A and 50A), sewer, and satellite TV connections. Sites have gravel pads and can accommodate motorhomes, travel trailers, and fifth wheels up to 60 feet in length. Both pull-through and back-in sites are available. Nine primitive tent-only sites are situated between the full-hookup loops, each with a fire ring and access to the bathhouses. The primitive sites accommodate one vehicle, one tent, and up to four adults. Two temperature-controlled bathhouses provide showers, changing areas, sinks, and restrooms for all campers. A dump station is available on-site, and a small camp store sells firewood ($10/bag), ice ($3/bag), snacks, drinks, and souvenirs. Beyond the campground, the park offers a 26-acre lake with a swimming area, playground, picnic areas with shelters, and an extensive trail system for hiking and mountain biking. Six renovated CCC-era stone cabins and glamping safari tents provide alternative accommodations.
