About

Champoeg State Heritage Area combines rich Pacific Northwest history with excellent camping facilities along the Willamette River. The campground offers diverse accommodations including 20 full-hookup RV sites, 54 electric sites with water, 6 tent sites, 6 yurts (3 pet-friendly), and 6 cabins (3 pet-friendly). A hiker/biker camp and group camping facilities are also available. B Loop, yurts, and cabins remain open year-round while A Loop closes seasonally. Modern amenities include flush toilets, hot showers for registered campers, a dump station, and potable water throughout. The park sells firewood and ice on-site. ADA-accessible sites are available across all camping types including cabins, yurts, full-hookup, electric, and tent sites. Beyond camping, visitors can explore paved trails past historical landmarks, play the 18-hole disc golf course, fish or kayak from the Willamette River dock, or visit picnic areas. The park holds significant historical importance as the site where Oregon pioneers voted to form the territory's first provisional government in 1843.
