About

Silver Falls State Park is Oregon's largest state park, spanning over 9,000 acres of temperate rainforest in the Cascade Range foothills east of Salem. The park's crown jewel is the Trail of Ten Falls, an 8.7-mile loop passing behind four waterfalls including the iconic 177-foot South Falls. The campground provides a forested basecamp for exploring this waterfall-rich landscape. The South Falls Campground offers 48 electrical sites with water hookups, with 18 or more available year-round. An additional 43 tent-only sites operate seasonally from May through October. Fourteen cabins range from rustic to deluxe, with seven designated pet-friendly. The campground features flush toilets, hot showers, and a dump station. Firewood and ice are sold on-site. Horse camping is available at Howard Creek Horse Camp with five primitive sites open May through September, plus a group horse site accommodating 24 people and 12 horses. All overnight stays require advance reservations through the Oregon State Parks system.
