About

Tucked away on the lower Current River, Cedar Spring is one of the smallest campgrounds in Ozark National Scenic Riverways with only two sites, making it ideal for campers seeking solitude and privacy. The campground sits just feet from the river, providing direct access to swimming, floating, and fishing in the spring-fed, clear waters of the Current River. The location offers scenic views of stone bluffs that are beautifully illuminated during sunset. A short walk up the road leads to a large field where visitors can watch for wildlife. This primitive backcountry campground provides a true wilderness experience with no modern amenities, requiring campers to be self-sufficient. Access to Cedar Spring requires driving approximately 3.5 miles on gravel roads, contributing to its remote and peaceful character. The campground is roughly 30 minutes south of Van Buren, Missouri, making it accessible yet secluded for those seeking an authentic backcountry camping experience along one of the finest floating rivers in the country.
