CCC Campground lies within the Dakota Prairie Grasslands in the rugged Badlands of western North Dakota. Surrounded by colorful buttes and rolling prairie, the campground provides access to some of the region's best hiking and mountain biking trails, including the 150-mile Maah Daah Hey Trail. The Little Missouri River flows along the northern boundary, and Theodore Roosevelt National Park's North Unit is just a short distance across the river. The campground has 25 sites divided into three loops: a tent loop, an RV loop with 20/30/50-amp electric hookups, and an equestrian loop with corrals, highlines, and hitchrails. Six sites are reservable through Recreation.gov, while the remaining sites are first-come, first-served. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring with grill. Six vault toilets serve the campground, all ADA-accessible. Potable water is available at spigots throughout the campground from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Wildlife viewing is excellent here. Pronghorn, mule deer, and white-tailed deer frequently pass through campsites, and bighorn sheep are occasionally spotted. Spring and summer bring wildflowers that attract birders and plant enthusiasts. Bike wash and maintenance racks near the trailheads serve Maah Daah Hey riders.

From Watford City, head south on US-85 for 15 miles. Turn west onto Long X Road and follow for one mile into the campground.
