About
CCC Campground sits in the colorful Badlands of western North Dakota within the Little Missouri National Grassland. The campground features 25 total campsites across three loops designed for tent campers, RVs, and equestrians. Sixteen sites operate first-come, first-served, while six sites are reservable through Recreation.gov. All campsites include picnic tables, fire rings with grills, and electrical hookups. Vault toilets are accessible throughout the campground.
The campground serves as a major trailhead for the 150-mile Maah Daah Hey Trail and connects to the Long X Trail and Sunset Loop Trail. The Little Missouri River flows along the northern edge of the campground within walking distance. Recent renovations have enhanced facilities including bike wash and maintenance racks near the trailheads. Equestrian facilities include corrals, highlines, hitch rails, and manure stations.
Visitors can expect dramatic views of colorful buttes, rolling prairies, and deep canyons. Wildlife sightings may include pronghorn antelope, mule deer, white-tailed deer, and occasionally bighorn sheep. Theodore Roosevelt National Park North Unit entrance is located just across the river. A seasonal campground host is on-site 20 hours weekly Thursday through Sunday from mid-May to Labor Day.
