Lewis And Clark State Park Day Use

Open

This is a day-use area, not an overnight campground. Day-use facilities are open and available. Vehicle entry fee is $5. Picnic shelters can be reserved by calling the park office.

About

Located on one of the upper bays of Lake Sakakawea, the Lewis & Clark State Park Day Use area offers a variety of daytime recreational opportunities against the dramatic backdrop of North Dakota's badlands. The day-use facilities include three picnic shelters available for rental: Madison, Elk Point, and Friends Shelter, which can accommodate groups from 64 to 128 people. The swim beach is situated along the east shore of the lake, providing a refreshing spot during summer months. Additional amenities include playgrounds, an amphitheater, a dog park, and picnic spots with tables, grills, and restrooms. Equipment rentals such as kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboards, and fat tire bikes are available at the park. Note that this is a day-use area only. Overnight camping is available at the separate Lewis & Clark State Park Campground, which offers 96 campsites ranging from primitive tent sites to full-hookup RV sites.
