Cathedral Caverns State Park campground sits in the rolling hills of Marshall County, Alabama, offering direct access to one of the state's most impressive underground attractions. The campground features 25 full-service sites with 50/30 amp power, water, and sewer connections accommodating RVs with large slide-outs, plus 11 basic sites with 30 amp power and water. All improved sites include a picnic table, fire ring, and grill. A centrally located bathhouse and complimentary dump station serve the campground. Primitive camping options include five tent sites with basic amenities and two backcountry sites accessible via a 3/4-mile hike, each offering a lean-to shelter, picnic table, and fire ring. Overnight guests receive discounted rates on cave tours, which wind through a cavern system featuring a 126-foot-wide entrance, frozen waterfall formations, and one of the world's largest stalagmites. The park maintains a consistent 60-degree temperature inside the cave year-round. The campground sits near Lake Guntersville and within easy reach of Monte Sano, DeSoto, and Buck's Pocket State Parks. Reservations can be made up to one year in advance through the Alabama State Parks system, with a two-night minimum on weekends and three-night minimum on major holidays.
