About

Old Stone Fort State Archaeological Park Campground sits within a unique 876-acre park protecting a 50-acre Native American ceremonial enclosure dating back 2,000 years. The campground was upgraded and reopened in Fall 2020 with 50 heavily wooded sites offering privacy and separation between neighbors. Each site includes water and electric hookups, an asphalt pad, fire ring with grill, standalone grill, and picnic table. The modern bathhouse provides flush restrooms and showers, though showers are unavailable during the off-season from December through February. A dump station remains open year-round. The park offers hiking trails, fishing along the Duck River, a museum with archaeological exhibits, and scenic overlooks of waterfalls. Only certified heat-treated firewood is permitted. The campground accommodates both RVs and tent campers, with pads handling units up to 50 feet. Some northern campsites tend to hold water after rain, so calling ahead about site conditions is advisable. Reservations are available up to one year in advance through reserve.tnstateparks.com.
