Blind Creek Campground

About

Blind Creek Campground is a small, rustic Forest Service campground situated at the entrance of the scenic canyon carved by the Yankee Fork of the Salmon River. As the first campground along the Yankee Fork Road, it provides easy access to the area's rich mining history and excellent recreational opportunities. The campground features 5 campsites, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring with cooking grill. A vault toilet serves the campground, but no potable water is available, so campers must bring their own supply. The sites can accommodate trailers and motorhomes up to 32 feet in length. The area offers excellent rainbow trout fishing in the Yankee Fork, and nearby attractions include the historic Sunbeam Dam overlook, the Yankee Fork Gold Dredge interpretive site, and the ghost town of Custer. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis at $5 per night.

Directions

From Stanley, drive 11 miles east on Highway 75 to the Sunbeam Dam overlook. Turn left onto Forest Road 40013 (Yankee Fork Road) and continue for about one mile. The campground is on the right.
