Canyon View Group Sites occupies a scenic location in Kings Canyon's Cedar Grove area, where the glaciated valley showcases towering granite cliffs including North Dome (8,717 ft) and Grand Sentinel (8,518 ft) rising 3,500 feet above the canyon floor. The campground sits at 4,600 feet elevation along the South Fork of the Kings River in a forest of cedar and ponderosa pine. The campground offers 16 group sites divided into two loops. The Right Loop contains 12 mid-sized G sites accommodating 7-19 people with up to 5 vehicles per site. The Left Loop has 4 large sites: Sites A, C, and D accommodate 20-40 people with 10 vehicles, while Site B accommodates 20-30 people with 7 vehicles. All sites are tent-only with designated tent pads. Each site includes picnic tables, fire rings, and bear-proof food storage lockers. Cedar Grove Village is 0.25 miles away and offers seasonal amenities including a small store, snack bar, showers, and laundry. The area provides access to exceptional hiking trails near Roads End, fishing on the Kings River, and horseback riding. Nearby attractions include Mist Falls, Zumwalt Meadow, Roaring River Falls, and Grizzly Falls.

From Fresno, take CA Highway 180 East to its end. Canyon View Campground is on the left (north) side of the road, 0.25 miles from Cedar Grove Village. The campground is 32 miles from the Kings Canyon National Park entrance.
