To provide for public safety and protect natural resources, using any type of motorized wheeled vehicle on the National Forest System roads the Exhibit and attached map, except persons using a tracked over-the-snow vehicle when there is a minimum of twelve inches of snow on the road.

About
Big Meadow Campground is located 75 miles east of Fresno in the Sequoia National Forest and Giant Sequoia National Monument at an elevation of 7,500 feet. The campground features 30 single and 8 double units arranged into 5 separate areas, each with its own vault toilet and trash facilities. The campground sits along serene Big Meadows Creek surrounded by vast meadows and forests of lodgepole pines, Jeffrey pines, and red fir. The campground provides access to excellent recreation opportunities including hiking into the nearby Jennie Lakes Wilderness, fly fishing in Big Meadows Creek, and horseback riding from the Horse Corral Pack Station. Numerous trailheads connect to popular wilderness areas including Jennie Lakes, Monarch, and National Park destinations. Buck Rock Lookout at 8,500 feet is a short drive away, and Hume Lake is approximately 15 miles from the campground. The campground is accessed via Big Meadows Road (Forest Road 14S11) off the Generals Highway, requiring passage through Kings Canyon National Park where a forest/park permit must be purchased.
Directions
Take Highway 180 east to the Kings Canyon National Park entrance, where a forest/park permit must be purchased. After entering the park, continue 2 miles and stay right toward Sequoia National Park. Continue on the Generals Highway approximately 6 miles to Big Meadows Road (Forest Road 14S11) on the left. Follow this road approximately 5 miles to the campground on the right.
