About
Horseshoe Bend National Military Park is a historic site commemorating the decisive Battle of Horseshoe Bend fought on March 27, 1814, between U.S. forces led by Andrew Jackson and the Red Stick Creek warriors. The park preserves the battlefield along the Tallapoosa River and offers interpretive trails, a visitor center, and educational programs. This is strictly a day-use facility with no camping allowed. Overnight parking is prohibited within the park. The Visitor Center is open Wednesday through Sunday from 9 AM to 4:30 PM, and admission is free. For camping, the National Park Service directs visitors to Wind Creek State Park near Dadeville, Alabama, located approximately 25 minutes southwest of Horseshoe Bend. Wind Creek offers full RV and tent camping facilities on the shores of Lake Martin.
