About
Caladesi Island State Park is one of the few untouched barrier islands along Florida's Gulf Coast, offering a unique boat camping experience at its bayside marina. The park's 108-slip marina provides overnight docking with 30-amp electric service and water hookups for boaters looking to spend the night on this pristine island. Accessible only by private boat or ferry from neighboring Honeymoon Island State Park, Caladesi offers visitors an escape to natural Florida. The island features over 3 miles of pristine white sand beaches, a 3-mile nature trail through one of the last remaining virgin slash pine forests, and winding mangrove kayaking trails on the bayside. The historic Scharrer Homestead sits in the island's interior, accessible via nature trails shaded by expansive live oaks. Marine life including dolphins, manatees, and sea turtles frequent the surrounding waters, while shorebirds nest along the beaches. Boat campers must register at the marina before sundown. Day-use facilities include picnic pavilions with tables and grills, bathhouses, beach wheelchairs, and a park concession offering casual beach fare and gifts. The park is open from 8 a.m. until sundown year-round. Note that traditional tent or RV camping is not available; this facility is exclusively for overnight boat docking.
