Caladesi Island State Park preserves one of the few remaining undeveloped barrier islands on Florida's Gulf Coast. The island is accessible only by private boat or passenger ferry from neighboring Honeymoon Island State Park. Its beach has consistently ranked among the best in the United States, featuring pristine white sand and crystal-clear Gulf waters backed by natural dune vegetation. Overnight stays are limited to boaters docking at the 108-slip bayside marina, which features floating docks with 30-amp electric service and water hookups. This is boat camping only; there is no tent or RV camping on the island. Beyond the marina and beach, visitors can explore a three-mile nature trail through coastal hammock habitat or paddle a kayak trail winding through the island's mangrove forests. The park provides restrooms with outdoor showers at two bath house locations, a concession area near the ferry dock, and picnic facilities. Pets are permitted on leash throughout most of the park but are prohibited on the beach and the ferry.

Caladesi Island is accessible only by water. Take the passenger ferry from Honeymoon Island State Park (Causeway Boulevard in Dunedin) or arrive by private boat. The marina entrance is on the bayside of the island at coordinates 28.032, -82.820.
