Twin Pond Hunt Camp is a primitive 36-site campground located deep within the Croom Tract of Withlacoochee State Forest in Hernando County, Florida. The campground primarily operates as a hunting base camp during Florida's designated hunting seasons but also welcomes tent campers and equestrians during other periods. Access is via forest roads that are predominantly dirt or soft sand, making a pickup truck or 4-wheel drive vehicle with high ground clearance strongly recommended. The surrounding landscape is distinctive, shaped by historic limestone mining operations that left behind steep hills, water-carved ravines, and picturesque algae-covered ponds. Activities include hiking on both short and long trails, mountain biking, wildlife viewing, stargazing, and fishing. The area offers excellent bird watching opportunities throughout the accessible seasons. This is strictly primitive camping with no amenities and no potable water. Campers must be self-sufficient and bring all necessary supplies including drinking water. Portable toilets are placed during hunting season dates only. A valid hunting license or management stamp is required to reserve hunt camp sites. Generator use is restricted between 10:00 pm and 5:00 am, and firearm discharge is prohibited on campsites.

Access Twin Pond Hunt Camp via Forest Road 7 in Brooksville, FL. Roads are predominantly dirt or soft sand and may be wet seasonally. A pickup truck or 4-wheel drive vehicle with high ground clearance is recommended. Alternative access is available via Loop Trail C from Tucker Hill day use area. Ample parking is available for horse trailers.
