About

Twin Pond Hunt Camp is a primitive camping facility located within the Croom Wildlife Management Area of Withlacoochee State Forest in Hernando County. This hunt camp features 36 primitive campsites designed primarily for hunters, with each site accommodating up to 15 people and RVs or trailers up to 37 feet. The campground serves as a base for hunting activities in the surrounding wildlife management area, which offers opportunities for white-tailed deer, wild turkey, and small game hunting. As a primitive facility, the campground has no potable water, and campers must bring their own drinking water and supplies. Portable toilets are placed during hunting season only. Each site can accommodate tents, trailers, or self-propelled camping vehicles. The campground requires all campers to provide proof of a current hunting license or management stamp along with a valid driver's license. Reservations are made for the entire hunting season, and strict rules apply including generator quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM and vehicle restrictions to named and numbered roads only. The site also serves as a trailhead for the Croom Horse Trails.
