About

Little Manatee River State Park Campground provides a peaceful camping experience within a 2,433-acre natural preserve in Southwest Florida. The full-facility campground offers 30 sites accommodating both tents and RVs, with each site featuring water and electric hookups, a fire ring, and a picnic table. Four dedicated equestrian campsites are available for those traveling with horses, providing access to over 15 miles of equestrian and multi-use trails. The park also offers primitive backpack camping along the river and primitive youth group camping for organized groups up to 20 people. The Little Manatee River flows 4.5 miles through 11 unique natural communities within the park, offering some of the clearest paddling waters in the region where the river bottom is visible on sunny days. Hikers can explore one of Southwest Florida's premier trails, a 6.5-mile stacked loop in the wilderness area. The park's diverse habitats support white-tailed deer, Florida scrub jays, bobcats, American alligators, and North American river otters. Riverside picnic pavilions and recreation areas complement the camping experience in this conservation gem located just south of Tampa near Wimauma.
