Alafia River State Park Campground sits on 6,500 acres of reclaimed phosphate mining land in Hillsborough County, creating an unusual Florida landscape of rolling hills, ridges, and lakes. The family campground contains 30 sites suitable for both RVs and tent campers, each equipped with water and electric hookups, a paved parking spur, picnic table, and fire ring with grill. Clean restrooms with solar-heated showers serve the campground, along with two large picnic pavilions and a community fire pit. The park is best known for its extensive mountain biking trail system, offering over 20 miles of challenging single-track across varied terrain that draws riders from throughout the region. A full-service bike shop on-site provides rentals, repairs, and lessons. Beyond biking, visitors can enjoy paddling the South Prong of the Alafia River, hiking, fishing, and wildlife observation. Equestrian camping is available with 12 sites featuring horse tie-outs, plus twelve stables and six paddocks on a first-come, first-served basis. Directions

From Interstate 75 exit 240 south of Riverview, follow SR 674 east to CR 39, then continue north to the park entrance at 14326 South County Road 39, Lithia. Note: Some GPS navigation leads to incorrect entrances. The main entrance to the ranger station and campground is on County Road 39, not Jameson Road.
