About

Lake Manatee State Park Campground provides a comfortable base for exploring Florida's Gulf Coast region. Located 15 miles east of Bradenton on State Road 64, the 60-site campground accommodates tents and RVs up to 65 feet in length. Every site includes water and 30-amp electric hookups, a picnic table, and a grill. Two centrally located bathhouses offer flush toilets and hot showers, and a dump station is available near the campground entrance. The park surrounds a 2,400-acre reservoir that serves as a drinking water supply for Manatee County. Swimming is permitted at the designated beach area, though periodic closures may occur based on county water quality assessments. Anglers can pursue bass, bream, and catfish from the shore or by boat. A paved boat ramp provides access to the lake, though gasoline motors are prohibited to protect water quality. The park's pine flatwoods and oak hammocks support diverse wildlife, with several miles of trails available for hiking and wildlife observation.
