About

Lake Manatee State Park Campground sits on 548 acres extending three miles along the south shore of Lake Manatee, a 2,400-acre reservoir created in the mid-1960s. The campground features 60 sites, each with water and 30-amp electricity, accommodating RVs up to 65 feet in length. A dump station is located at the campground entrance. Campers enjoy easy access to a swimming beach, boat ramp, fishing docks, playground, and picnic areas. The park offers excellent freshwater fishing for largemouth bass, sunshine bass, speckled perch, bluegill, shellcracker, and catfish from boats or fishing docks. Boating, kayaking, and canoeing are popular activities, though boat motors are restricted to 20 horsepower or less by county ordinance. Paddlers can explore the scenic lake shores for wildlife viewing. Hiking enthusiasts can explore 4.5 miles of trails winding through diverse habitats including pine flatwoods, sand pine scrub, depression marshes, and hardwood forest. The park is home to imperiled species like the Florida golden aster and gopher tortoise. A 2.5-mile paved interior road provides family-friendly cycling, while 2.34 miles of off-road trails offer more adventurous riding. The park is located 15 miles east of Bradenton on State Road 64.
