About
Buttercup Group Camp offers an outdoor oasis in Southern California's pine-covered mountains, providing one of the best locales for group camping near Big Bear Lake. The heavily forested campground sits at approximately 6,975 feet elevation, offering a relatively shady and secluded atmosphere accessed by a dirt road passable by all vehicles. The single group site accommodates up to 40 people and 8 vehicles, equipped with 5 picnic tables, a double pedestal grill, a group fire ring, vault toilets, and potable water. Campers should bring their own garbage bags as there is no trash service. Check-in is at 2:00 PM with the hosts at nearby Pineknot Campground, and checkout is at noon. Big Bear Lake, just two miles away, offers fishing for trout, bluegill, crappie, catfish, and largemouth bass, along with boating opportunities. The area also features plentiful hiking, mountain biking, and climbing opportunities with access to numerous trails. A general store and restaurants can be found in the city of Big Bear Lake.
