About
Lobo Group Campground sits at approximately 6,400 feet elevation in a dense pine forest within the Barton Flats recreation area of San Bernardino National Forest. This single group site can accommodate up to 75 people with a maximum of 15 vehicles. The site features full shade coverage, flush toilets, potable water, multiple picnic tables, a pedestal grill, and a group fire ring with surrounding benches. The campground serves as a trailhead for the Rio Monte Trail, which leads to Rio Monte Panorama overlooking the Santa Ana River Valley gorge. The famed Santa Ana River Trail, popular for hiking, biking, and horseback riding, is also accessible from the area. Jenks Lake, a small mountain lake nearby, offers fishing for rainbow trout, largemouth bass, bluegill, sunfish, and catfish, with rowboats, canoes, and kayaks permitted. Bears frequent the area, so campers must follow all garbage disposal and food storage regulations. Fire restrictions may be imposed during hot, dry weather. The campground shares an entrance with neighboring Oso Group Campground.
