About
Burr Oak Cove Campground is a small, densely wooded campground tucked into the northwest tip of Burr Oak Reservoir in Wayne National Forest's Athens Unit. The 19-site campground includes both standard sites and walk-in tent sites that provide additional seclusion for campers seeking solitude in the Appalachian foothills. The campground sits along both the North Country National Scenic Trail and the Buckeye Trail, making it an ideal basecamp for day hikers and thru-hikers alike. Fishing is available at the reservoir, and the surrounding forest offers opportunities to explore one of Ohio's few National Forests. Each site features a picnic table and fire ring, with vault toilets and potable water available during peak season. Water is shut off in late fall, reducing the fee to $10/night. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with cash or check payment accepted on-site.
