About

Burr Oak Cove Campground is a small, densely wooded campground located on the northwest tip of Burr Oak Reservoir in Athens County within the Wayne National Forest's Athens Unit. The campground offers 19 camping units total, including standard sites and walk-in sites that provide additional seclusion for campers looking for a more remote experience. The campground's wooded setting and proximity to Burr Oak Reservoir make it an ideal base for fishing, hiking, and exploring the surrounding forest. The campground is positioned along the North Country and Buckeye backcountry trails, providing direct access to extensive hiking opportunities. The facility operates seasonally, typically from mid-April through early January, with potable water available during peak season. When water is turned off during the non-peak season, reduced camping fees apply. The campground is managed by the U.S. Forest Service and offers vault toilets. Maximum RV length is 25 feet, and sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis, though some sites may be reservable. The campground is located just a half mile east of Highway 13 and only a short distance from Burr Oak Reservoir, making it easily accessible while still providing a secluded forest camping experience. Interagency Senior and Access passes provide a 50% discount on single campsites during overnight stays.
