Lake Hope Shelter is a reservable picnic shelter house at Lake Hope State Park, located in the rugged, heavily forested hills of Vinton County in southeastern Ohio. The shelter features a large sun deck and patios that provide spectacular views overlooking the 120-acre Lake Hope, making it an ideal spot for group gatherings and outdoor events. The shelter includes nearby restroom facilities and is situated near the park's swimming beach area. Lake Hope State Park encompasses 2,983 acres within Zaleski State Forest and offers a variety of outdoor activities including fishing, boating, swimming at the 600-foot beach, and exploring 15 miles of hiking trails that traverse scenic woodlands and steep gorges. The park is known for its abundant wildlife, including beavers that can be observed near the quiet inlets of the lake, and over 120 species of birds. The park's location in a historic iron furnace region provides opportunities for history enthusiasts to explore abandoned mines and ancient mounds. The shelter can be reserved through the Ohio State Parks reservation system, making it a convenient option for family reunions, picnics, and group events. Adjacent to the shelter area, visitors have access to the park's full range of amenities including the rustic Stone Terrace Restaurant at the historic lodge, a general store, and extensive recreational facilities throughout the 2,983-acre park.

Lake Hope Shelter is located within Lake Hope State Park at 27331 State Route 278, McArthur, OH 45651. From the junction of SR-50 and Hwy 278, head north on Hwy 278 for approximately 4 miles, following signs to the park.
