The site is easily accessible from Interstates I-64 and I-79, as well as U.S. Route 60. The campground consists of a single group campsite set in a grassy field with a gravel parking lot, designed to accommodate tent camping for groups of 8 or more people. The facility provides essential amenities including year-round flush toilets, potable water, and trash collection. The accessible restrooms and campground layout make it suitable for various group camping needs. No RV hookups are available, and the site is primarily oriented toward tent camping. Campers have access to existing fire rings and are permitted to burn only dead wood found on the ground. Booking Burnwood requires a Special Use Permit obtained through the park's permits office, which must be arranged at least 10 business days after application submission. The site operates year-round at $75 per reservation. Quiet hours are enforced from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, and all standard National Park Service regulations apply, including leash requirements for pets and prohibitions on littering and public intoxication.
