Summersville Lake Shelters
This is a day-use picnic shelter facility, not an overnight campground. The four group shelters are available for reservation through Recreation.gov. Overnight camping is not available here; use nearby Battle Run Campground instead.
About
Summersville Lake Shelters is a day-use facility featuring four large group picnic shelters situated on the shores of Summersville Lake, West Virginia's largest lake at 2,700 acres. The shelters are located in two areas: three at Damsite Picnic Area (PS1, PS2, PS3) and one at Battle Run Recreation Area (PS4). All shelters are non-electric and designed for group gatherings, parties, and family functions. The facility offers flush toilets and drinking water. Pets and livestock are not permitted. Vehicles cannot be driven directly to the shelters, and firewood must be purchased locally. No confetti is allowed. This is not an overnight camping facility. Visitors seeking camping should reserve sites at the nearby Battle Run Campground, also managed through Recreation.gov.
Directions
